Shelley completed her undergraduate studies at Bishop’s University in Quebec, where she studied Commerce and Psychology. She took her law degree at the University of Victoria and participated in UVic’s Law Co-op program. This provided her with the opportunity to combine her law studies with relevant work experience. Her co-op work terms included Woodward & Company, Dwyer Tax Lawyers and the Court Services Branch of the British Columbia Attorney General. Shelley also spent a term at the U Vic Law Centre Clinic, where she was involved in providing assistance to people with a wide range of legal issues.

After completing her law degree in 2006, Shelley articled with Dinning Hunter Lambert & Jackson before re-joining Dwyer Tax Lawyers as an associate.
